Strategy for Organizing Insights Content

  1. Users should be able to browse content by selecting a service and/or industry that is relevant to them.
  2. Users should be able to browse insights without being overwhelmed with options. To do this, we need to limit the number of services and industries displayed. Removing redundant options and not getting too granular can help with this.
  3. Users should be able to discover topics that are relevant, trending, or timely. This is done by curating and surfacing topics in key places throughout the site.
  4. The list of topics can be as granular as content admins see fit and new topics can be added at their discretion.
  5. Content is not required to be associated to a topic, but can be tagged with one or more.
  6. Each insights page should be associated to at least one service or industry.

      Guidelines

These rules of thumb can help define the difference between a service, industry, and topic.

      Industries

      • Industries should represent distinct business types or market segments.
      • Ask yourself: "Is this a field or a type of company a potential client might work within?"
      • Avoid overlap with services and topics.

      Services

      • Services should clearly represent Eisner service offerings.
      • Ask yourself: "Is this something a client can hire EisnerAmper for?"
      • Avoid overlap with industries and topics.

      Topics

      • Topics should represent curated themes of content.
      • Topics may be very granular when there is a specific topic that is timely, relevant, or trending.
      • Topics may be relevant to multiple industries or encompass a range of services.
      • Avoid duplication with services, industries, blogs, and podcast channels.
