Trends Watch: Crypto Investing Outlook for 2024

This week, Elana talks with Alan Schill, Founder & CEO, Zanshin Capital Management.

What is your outlook for crypto investing?

We believe that the crypto and digital asset markets will be very bullish through 2025 for the remainder of the business liquidity cycle. I believe this cycle will be extra bullish with the inclusion of the bitcoin and ethereum ETFs bringing in incredible amounts of capital that has not previously participated in these markets. Crypto and digital assets will become increasingly relevant in our lives with a host of new real- world use cases.

Where do you see the greatest opportunities and why?

I believe the real-world asset space will be massive and the amount of assets that will bring a host of new use cases on chain. I am very bullish on AI for this cycle and the use cases for the gaming sector. The BRC-20 defi ecosystem excites me a lot and I think it will grow tremendously. As far as where the action is, I love London and Dubai as two of the biggest hotbeds for intellectual capital and talent.

What are the greatest challenges you face and why?

2023 was a very productive first year for us in the crypto hedge fund industry. Raising capital at the beginning of 2023 was very challenging due to the FTX fiasco and other industry blowups. It’s opening up now and we continue to grow.

What keeps you up at night?

We are positioned very well for this cycle, and I am sleeping soundly. Perhaps some excitement may keep me up, but I keep that in check with vigorous exercise, meditation, time with my family and a disciplined life.
