Peter Avellino

Peter Avellino is a Director in the Health Care Services Group, with over 25 years of health care experience. Peter is responsible for assisting clients in areas including revenue cycle transformation, coding and documentation assessments, payment systems assessment and implementation, clinical education strategy and improvement planning development.

Peter’s experience covers in-patient acute, post-acute (SNF, LTACH), outpatient hospital and free-standing diagnostic centers, and physician practice. He has demonstrated extensive health care transformational leadership skills in the areas of finance, reimbursement, operations, revenue cycle, regulatory compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. Peter has also led large-scale margin improvement initiatives, vendor management, contracting (payer and vendor), and strategic planning, including new service development and market share strategies.

As a leader in the health care industry, he led and facilitated board retreats and leadership teams in change management directives. Perter’s expertise has allowed him to provide strategic guidance to health care leadership by paving the way to profitability and revenue retention.

Prior to joining the firm, Peter was a Director in the Health Care Advisory Group at a national accounting firm, where he was responsible for client expansion in the health care provider space with a primary focus in the Mid-Atlantic/Midwestern region. Peter has presented and written articles for Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management, and Health Care Administrators Association on topics such as vendor management, price transparency and shifting reimbursement models.
