Ling You

Ling You is a Tax Partner in the Real Estate Services Group with nearly 20 years in public accounting. Ling focuses on providing tax compliance and consulting services to private equity real estate funds, portfolio companies and management entities. She has extensive experience with compliance issues related to operating companies and tiered fund structures such as multi-state apportionment, state and foreign withholding, composite filing, effectively connected income, and unrelated business taxable income.

Ling is knowledgeable in complex partnership concepts such as maintaining tax and 704(b) capital accounts, 704(c) and reverse 704(c) allocation, 743(b) and 734(b) basis adjustments, partnership minimum gain, guaranteed payments, and self-employment tax. In addition, she is actively involved in fund structuring and exit strategy planning and is experienced in reviewing fund operating agreement and offering documents.

Prior to joining the firm, Ling worked at Ernest Young and RSM for over 10 years and Moss Adams for 4.5 years. She also worked at Huawei Technologies as a key member in its Tax Planning Department in ShenZhen (China) Headquarter from 2012-2013. Through her experience in China, Ling has a working knowledge of China tax laws, in addition to the issues involved in cross-border tax consulting, such as holding structure, global cash pooling arrangement, tax-efficient supply chain, and IP migration.
