J. Barry Tidwell

J. Barry Tidwell is a Partner in the Real Estate Services group and Head of the Affordable Housing group. He has spent over 30 years in public accounting, consulting both regional and local accounting firms, as well as leading joint ventures with international public accounting firms.

Barry is skilled in navigating the various intricacies of capital markets, strategic mergers, tax planning, and transactions with a particular concentration and specialty in the tax credit arena. He has deep expertise in structuring mergers and acquisitions to achieve maximum benefit for clients and investors. This includes consulting in buying and selling GP and LP interests. Additionally, Barry excels in resource allocation and acquisition, talent development, and maintaining industry-leading expertise. As a dedicated, client-focused leader, Barry is committed to pioneering innovations and delivering exceptional service to enhance the firm's value to its esteemed clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Barry was the National Managing Partner of Tidwell Group, LLC, a full-service accounting firm specialized in the real estate sector across the United States, with a focus on affordable housing, conventional real estate, and not-for-profit industries. Barry has also served as the Managing Principal of the Birmingham Office of a top 15 accounting firm in the United States.
