Angela Veal

Angela Veal is a partner in the firm’s Technical Accounting Advisory Services practice with nearly 25 years of global professional accounting and private industry experience. Angela serves as a trusted advisor to the C-suite on technical accounting relating to complex transactions, new accounting standard implementations, and business transformations in a variety of industries, including real estate, financial services, technology, oil and energy, consumer products, and infrastructure. Angela leads a key cross-disciplinary client account team and focuses on the strategic growth of the firm’s anchor clients.

Angela has advised C-suite of both public and private companies on technical accounting matters relating to complex transactions, such as IPOs, mergers and acquisitions (M&As), de-SPACs, and debt and equity financing. She has also advised and led projects relating to new accounting standard implementations relating to current expected credit losses (CECL), leases, and revenue recognition. Angela has technical accounting expertise in accounting changes (restatements), business combinations, reverse acquisitions, common control transactions, asset acquisitions, consolidations, joint ventures, share-based compensations, derivatives, asset retirement obligations, accounting changes, hypothetical liquidation book values (HLBV), inventories, intangibles, goodwill, impairment analyses, and going concern. Angela has also assisted with SEC comment letters.

Angela leads a key cross-disciplinary client account team in the firm and is responsible for strategizing and executing the expansion of the key account and other anchor clients. Angela is a believer in meaningful collaborations with our business partners to create a positive impact on the community.

Prior to joining the firm, Angela helped grow the accounting advisory practice of another accounting firm. She has also served as a controller for real estate at a tech giant and an audit executive with Big 4 accounting firms leading assurance engagements for financial service clients.

Angela stayed forefront of new technical topics and has published articles relating to leases, revenue recognition, Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG), and credit losses. She is also a frequent speaker before professional audiences and is quoted by established financial news outlets.
